Din Tai Fung at Greenwood Plaza

Updated: Jun 10, 2019

Known for the 'World's Tastiest Dumplings', Din Tai Fung Dumpling Bars have been popping up all over Sydney and Melbourne. Originating from Taipei, the first Din Tai Fung opened in 1972, now they can be found in Australia, Japan, USA, Singapore, China, Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Macau, Thailand, UAE, and Philippines.

Demand for these delicious dumplings are so great around Sydney that Greenwood Plaza in North Sydney had one open up in recent years.

The popular dumplings are steamed in bamboo steamers.

To continue the traditional feel of this cooking method, Din Tai Fung restaurants incorporate wood finishes to resemble the bamboo steamers. Of course when it comes to wood finishes, LF Construction Services are the go to specialists in Sydney. The feature bulk heads were created from natural wood colour panels in a horizontal pattern to look like the bands of a bamboo steamer.

Offsetting the red lantern colours favoured by Chinese on the Din Tai Fung logo and traditional umbrellas with the natural look of the feature wood bulk heads, flooring and tables really make this Din Tai Fung Dumpling Bar stand out.

The timber flooring you see in the pictures was constructed with a subfloor with timber and fc sheets ready for tiles to marry with the existing plaza flooring. LF Construction Services worked hard to make the joins as seamless as possible. The end result was another successful collaboration with Crosbie Projects and LF Construction Services to bring another international brand to Sydney locals.
